Driver hospitalized after Cedar City pickup truck rear-end crash

CEDAR CITY, UT – A driver of a blue Dodge Ram 1500 was airlifted to a hospital for unspecified injuries after crashing into the back of a silver Ford F-250 on State Route 56.

This collision occurred around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday on the westbound lanes, according to St. George News. It is unclear why the driver of the blue Dodge truck rear-ended the Ford. Officials did confirm that impairment did not play a role. They said that the Dodge driver, a man in his 60s, was either entrapped or pinned inside his vehicle and had to be extricated.

The Dodge motorist was taken to St. George Regional Hospital for treatment. The Ford driver got away unscathed.

Officials also mentioned that some trees sustained damage after getting struck by the Dodge, as well as many empty beehive boxes.

The Ford driver was able to drive away from the scene, while the Dodge truck had to be towed away.
