Attorney Shawn McGinnis | Swenson & Shelley
Shawn McGinnis was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, but has been proud to call St. George his home for approximately 30 years. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Dixie State University and his Juris Doctor degree from Western Michigan University. Before earning his law degree, he had the opportunity to serve his community as a firearms instructor, an EMT, and as a business owner of McGinnis Stucco.
Prior to joining Swenson & Shelley Injury Attorneys, Shawn worked for the Washtenaw County Prosecutor’s Office where he gained a wealth of insight and knowledge into the criminal justice system while advocating on behalf of crime victims in the pursuit of justice.
When he isn’t practicing personal injury law and serving as a voice for injured parties, Shawn enjoys spending time with his family. Shawn wed the love of his life, Stacey, a second-grade teacher. The couple has been married for over 30 years and together, they have five wonderful children and four adorable grandchildren.
Shawn has experience cage fighting, which is a full-contact combat sport that utilizes mixed martial arts. He enjoys reading, traveling, sports, repelling, hiking, Jeeping, fishing, home construction, cars, biking, Harleys, rat-rods, good food, and whatever his kids and grand-kids are into at the time. In addition to spending time with his family, Shawn enjoys building relationships and meeting fun and interesting people.
Today, Shawn exclusively focuses on personal injury cases, which allows him to stay on the cutting edge of the law in his field. He understands the insurance company’s tactics and is committed to getting the best results possible for his clients so they can focus on healing and recovery.
