Update: UHP IDs men involved in Box Elder Co. head-on crash

BOX ELDER COUNTY, UT – Utah Highway Patrol has provided updates and the names of those involved in Tuesday’s head-on crash

The collision was between a silver 2015 Chevy pickup and a white 2020 Kenworth semi-truck, and occurred on SR-30, Cache Valley Daily reported. 

For reasons unknown, the driver of the pickup truck drove over the eastbound lanes, causing him to crash head-on with the semi-truck. 

Troopers identified the pickup truck driver as 38-year-old Tyler Burgin.

The semi-truck driver was Carson Norris, 24, of Lonetree, Wyoming. 

Norris was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries. Burgin succumbed to injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

There were no other occupants. State Route 30 closed in both directions, and reopened around 5:30 a.m.
