WASATCH COUNTY, UT – Troopers shared more details regarding the fatal crash near Deer Creek Reservoir and released the names of those impacted.
The collision occurred on U.S. 189 on Tuesday, April 18th, KSL revealed. The driver of a 2022 Lucid Air was traveling south and crossed into the northbound lanes, and collided with a 2004 GMC Yukon head-on.
Both vehicles came to rest, and the impact led the Lucid to catch fire.
In addition, a Jeep Patriot and a Subaru Crosstrek were also involved. Both drivers of these vehicles sustained some vehicle damage, and the drivers suffered minor injuries.
Troopers identified the driver of the Lucid Air as 46-year-old Jeremy Pope and the GMC Yukon driver as 26-year-old Hanani Aiono.
It is still clear what caused Pope to cross over into the northbound lanes.
