Update: Murray Police ID driver killed in left turn crash 

MURRAY, UT – Murray Police have confirmed the name of the motorist who was killed in a left turn crash that happened around 9:45 p.m. at the 5460 South and State Street junction Tuesday. 

According to Gephardt Daily, the person who suffered fatal injuries was identified as Abdulhameed “Abdul” Y. Alzouabi, 19, of Midvale. Based on a preliminary report, Alzouabi made a left turn after traveling south on State Street. He collided with another vehicle. The force of the impact caused Alzouabi’s car to roll over, claiming his life in the process. 

The other driver, an unidentified 73-year-old man, was hospitalized with critical-life-threatening injuries. 

Murray Police said there was a third car – a white Mercedes GL – involved in this collision. They have not revealed what role this driver played or released any information on the suspect.
