Man, 56, killed in left-turn crash with dump truck in Tooele

TOOELE, UT – A 56-year-old man was killed in a collision involving a garbage truck along Brent Rose Park Wednesday. 

The crash happened around 3 p.m. at the intersection of SR 36 and Village Boulevard, KSL TV reported. Utah Highway Patrol said the driver of a Chevy Tahoe hesitated to turn left when he went in front of a garbage truck and collided with the vehicle. 

The driver of the dump truck was unharmed, while the driver of the Tahoe, the 56-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries. 

State Route 36 closed for several hours and has reopened since. Utah Highway Patrol is investigating this fatal collision.
