Fiery semi-truck vs. car crash in Weber Co. hurts 2, kills 2

WEBER COUNTY, UT – Two were injured, and two were left dead after a head-on crash between a semi-truck and car in Riverdale Sunday. 

Officials were dispatched to the southbound lanes of I-15 before 3 a.m., according to DPS. Upon arrival, they learned that, for reasons unclear, the driver of a passenger vehicle was traveling north in the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a semi-truck. 

The semi-truck was loaded with unspecified goods. Upon impact, both vehicles caught on fire. The 18-wheeler driver and passenger were able to escape the burning truck safely and were hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries. 

The driver and passenger of the car succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
