Driver unharmed after semi with eggs catches fire in SLC

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – A tractor-trailer hauling cartons of eggs caught fire on I-80 along 13th East around 6 p.m. Monday.

According to Gephardt Daily, the driver pulled over and was able to disconnect the truck from the fiery trailer. Fire crews said the potential contributing factor to the fire was overheated brakes.

The fire and smoke were contained after an hour, and the driver was unharmed.

No other vehicles were involved.

Minor delays happened until 10 p.m. However, traffic has resumed to normal since then.
