Crash on 500 West near downtown SLC prompts lane closures

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – A crash on westbound 500 South along 400 West prompted two right lane closures Friday. 

The collision was reported after 7:20 a.m., as indicated in a tweet from KSL Traffic. The two right lanes were blocked before the I-15 on-ramp. 

Traffic was also blocked going from the east and westbound directions of 400 West going past the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake. 

There has been no official word on what exactly caused the crash nor how many vehicles and occupants there were. Our newsroom will post more information as it comes to light.
