Alleged DUI driver causes Cedar City rear-end crash 

CEDAR CITY, UT – A 21-year-old woman operating a silver Toyota Corolla was suspected of impairment when she hit the back of a red Toyota Prius after 2 p.m. Wednesday. 

This collision (which only involved the two drivers) occurred along the Cedar City Imaging Center parking lot at 1333 North Main Street, St. George News reported. Both vehicles were towed away from the scene for heavy damage. 

First responders took the Prius driver to a hospital for her back pain. 

Police identified the suspected impaired driver as Emma Tovey. They conducted a sobriety test on her and took her to a hospital for medical clearance. Then, they arrested her and booked her into the Iron County Jail. 

Tovey was charged with “suspicion of DUI (first offense in 10 years), a class B misdemeanor, and negligent operation of a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance.”
