Alleged drunk driver causes 4-vehicle wreck in Midvale 

MIDVALE, UT – A 30-year-old man, who was suspected to be impaired, caused a four-vehicle collision with injuries Monday evening. 

Gephardt Daily said this crash happened on the 7690 block of S Center Square around 6 p.m. Midvale Police said 30-year-old Javier Rivero Rodriguez was traveling at a high rate on eastbound 7200 South and hit another vehicle waiting to turn left. Two other vehicles were affected. 

Police found several alcohol containers in Rodriguez’s vehicle, some of which were empty and some full. 

Rodriguez also did not drive with a valid license, and his car did not have insurance. He was booked into the Salt Lake County jail and will be held without bail. His charges consist of driving with an invalid license – an infraction, three counts of negligently operating a vehicle resulting in serious bodily injury, a third-degree felony, operating a vehicle without insurance, a class C misdemeanor, speeding, an infraction, and an improper lane change in an occupied lane, an infraction. 

At this time, it is unclear how many people were hurt and what their current conditions are.
