4 people hurt in semi-truck, car crash in Hurricane

HURRICANE, UT – Four people were hospitalized for serious and moderate injuries after a crash between a semi-truck and two passenger cars on State Route 59 around 2:30 p.m. Monday.

St. George News said the collision happened when a semi-truck driver carrying a flatbed trailer rear-ended a Honda Civic on westbound SR-59 when the driver reduced their speed. The force of the crash led the Honda to go onto the eastbound lanes, resulting in them colliding head-on with a Mazda.

The semi-truck driver was unharmed, while one Mazda occupant was hospitalized for moderate to critical injuries. The other Mazda passenger and the Honda driver and passenger were all sent to the hospital for moderate injuries as well.

Officials cleared the crash within the hour.
