2 dead after crashing into parked box truck in West Valley City

WEST VALLEY CITY, UT – Speeding could have contributed to a fatal Saturday afternoon crash. 

According to Gephardt Daily, a driver crashed into the back of a stationary box truck before 3:30 p.m. on the 3200 block of West Parkway Blvd. 

The passenger, a man, was hospitalized before succumbing to fatal injuries. The driver, a woman, gave in to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

No one was inside the parked box truck at the time of the collision. 

Weather conditions and intoxication were not contributing factors in Saturday’s crash.
