1 seriously hurt in I-215 chain-reaction crash in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – When a driver of a pickup truck struck a disabled vehicle on I-215, it prompted a chain reaction crash with another vehicle, leaving one seriously injured Tuesday.

The collision took place before 6 p.m. on the northbound lanes of the interstate near 500 South, KUTV revealed.

The victim was airlifted to a hospital for serious injuries, and there has been no word on the person’s current condition.

At the time of this writing, all of the highway lanes along California Avenue were closed for clearance and investigation for nearly two hours. Drivers were redirected to I-180. All lane closures and heavy delays have dissipated since then.
