1 killed in ATV rollover crash at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park

KANAB, UT – A 23-year-old man succumbed to fatal injuries following an ATV rollover collision at Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park after 4 p.m. Saturday.

St. George News said that when the ATV operator – Abel Ocampo – lost control of the vehicle, it overturned, entrapping him. Bystanders tried to free him but appeared to have been unsuccessful. First responders conducted life-saving measures. Unfortunately, Ocampo was declared dead at the scene.

One good samaritan who tried to lift the rolled-over ATV was taken to a hospital for leg injuries, and the other ATV occupant sustained minor injuries.

Ocampo was confirmed to have not worn his seatbelt amid the wreck. It is not exactly clear what led to this wreck.

Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
