1 hospitalized after rear-end crash in Cedar City

CEDAR CITY, UT – One person was sent to the hospital after a driver of a gray Ford changed lanes in an intersection and struck the back of a Toyota Tuesday.

This collision occurred before 12:30 p.m. at the Cross Hollow Road and Providence Center Drive junction, St. George News reported.

Cedar City Police said the Ford and Toyota driver was in the left lane turn lanes, preparing to turn onto Providence Center Drive. At the last minute, the Ford driver decided to get out of the left turn lane. As she was getting out, that’s when she rear-ended the Toyota.

Police have said that the Ford driver will “likely” be cited. She was unharmed, while a passenger from the Toyota was taken to a hospital for unspecified injuries.

The Toyota driver was not hurt.

Crews towed away both vehicles, and delays were in place for 30-40 minutes while officials worked to clear the area.
